As Account Director and the first member of the OS team, Sam Wineka is heavily involved in all OS client work. He brings deep policy knowledge, an eye for detail and a background in journalism to his role.
In 2011, Wineka assumed responsibility for all Digital Media. In this capacity, he oversees the online presence for all OS clients, providing strategic insight and directing real-time updates and changes to client websites, while also maintaining social media accounts on behalf of the firm’s non-profit, foundation and coalition clients.
Wineka’s experience extends across the full range of communications tactics, including pitching media, crafting and issuing press releases and media advisories developing and maintaining media lists and planning events. He also works with clients to develop messaging for large-scale launches, media tours and major speaking engagements.
Prior to joining OS, Wineka was a fellow at Widmeyer Communications where he worked with a broad range of clients in the public affairs space. He further honed his journalism skills through internships with the Raleigh News & Observer and the Hartford Courant where he focused on state politics and sports, respectively.
Wineka holds a B.A. in Journalism from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
