Outreach Strategies, LLC, a communications and public affairs firm focused on advancing sustainability, clean energy and environmental solutions, announced the hire of Angela Bonarrigo, former Director of the Washington, D.C., office for Ceres, as Senior Vice President. Since 2009, Outreach Strategies has specialized in bridging communications and public policy in the areas of natural resources, energy, sustainability and agriculture. The growing prominence of these issues over the past three years has contributed to strategic and rapid growth for OS as well as the opportunity for expanded senior leadership. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in communications for energy and environmental campaigns, Bonarrigo now directs the development and implementation of strategic communications and advocacy campaigns designed to promote positive environmental outcomes in her new role as Senior Vice President. “I had the privilege of working with Angela on climate issues when she was with Ceres,” said Tad Segal, President and Founder of Outreach Strategies. “Her dedication, passion for these issues, remarkable background and strategic thinking impressed me at the time. These are the same core attributes that Angela brings to OS as we continue our strategy of smart growth, mission-driven philosophy and senior-level implementation.” Prior to joining OS, Bonarrigo provided strategic advice to senior management and program staff on energy-related policy and legislative issues as the Director of the Washington, D.C., office for Ceres, a leading non-profit organization committed to mobilizing investor and business leadership to build a thriving, sustainable global economy. Through her work at Ceres, she built support for energy policy and mobilized business leaders to advocate the economic imperative for a clean-energy economy. “I’ve long admired OS as a top notch communications firm with an impressive track record of forging powerful coalitions across leading foundations, forward-looking businesses and advocacy organizations,” said Bonarrigo. “I am thrilled to be joining Tad and the entire OS team at a time when the need for enhanced cooperation and engagement from the public and private sector to articulate and advocate for innovative policy solutions couldn’t be greater or more exciting.” Previously, Bonarrigo served as Vice President at Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications, where she worked with large and small energy and clean-tech companies. For a decade, Bonarrigo served as a public affairs specialist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where she designed and implemented comprehensive communications plans and public engagement strategies for high profile, politically charged projects throughout New England. An experienced mediator and facilitator, Bonarrigo also managed the Agency’s crisis communications during emergency response activities. “OS is delighted to have someone of Angela’s caliber on board,” Segal added. “It speaks volumes about where we are and where we’re headed. But most importantly, Angela will be a tremendous resource and advocate for our clients as we work with them trying to solve some of the most complex and pressing problems of this generation.” Bonarrigo holds a B.A. in political science from Tufts University.
